We're guests in the places we visit, many of them beautiful, complex, and fragile. I believe we have a responsibility to approach them with an open mind, genuine curiosity, humility, and respect.
When we travel that way, the experience becomes more than a collection of destinations. We discover different ways of living, find connection in unexpected places, and return home with a broader perspective on the world—and our place in it.
THE PERSON BEHIND WILD ROAD
A lifetime of looking closer.
Travel has been part of my life for as long as I can remember, but it's the experiences I never could have planned that have stayed with me the most.
I've spent a year traveling solo through Southeast Asia, cycled from Amsterdam to Istanbul, trekked through the Himalayas, and lived in New Zealand. Along the way, I've learned that some of the best discoveries happen when we slow down, take a different route, or simply remain open to whatever comes next.
Those experiences also taught me that meaningful travel looks different for everyone. For some, it's a challenging trek or an unfamiliar destination. For others, it's a beautiful place to stay, an unexpected cultural encounter, or the freedom to explore at their own pace. There's no single right way to experience the world.
Ten years as an ICU nurse gave me a profound appreciation for how precious our time is. It reinforced my belief that life is meant to be experienced, not just planned for someday. It's a perspective that continues to shape how I approach travel, both personally and professionally.
I created Wild Road to share my love of exploration and make extraordinary travel feel more accessible, personal, and thoughtfully considered. My goal is to give you the confidence to venture further, follow your curiosity, and discover more of the world in a way that feels entirely your own.
